Our Impact

October 9, 2014
This entry was posted on October 9, 2014.

Why it Matters

Why Does It Matter?

Our work matters because, today, neighborhood inequality and spatial injustice are among the top problems facing U.S. urban centers.  The problems are historically related to the settlement of blacks and people of color on the most undesirable residential lands and the cheapest housing in the urban metropolis.  The goal of the UB Center for Urban Studies is to work with residents, stakeholders and public officials to regenerate distressed neighborhoods by physically transforming and turning them into a socially functional community.
